🔗 Share this article Battlefield 6's Relaxed Game Mode Ignites Intense Discussions Over AI Players, XP Rewards, and Queue Times Over the weekend, Battlefield Studios launched a fresh playlist titled Relaxed Breakthrough. To put it simply, this option resembles the standard Breakthrough setup but features a few key adjustments: Every squad includes only eight real players, with the rest filled by AI-controlled opponents. Actions done by real players grant full XP, while bot actions provide reduced XP. Just a pair of locations can be played: Siege of Cairo and Empire State. Elements like Dogtags, achievements, and stat tracking are disabled. So essentially, the playlist lives up to its title: it's a casual version of Breakthrough. On the surface, you might think it's a good idea, as it provides more options for gamers seeking alternative methods to enjoy the title. But, gaming history have taught us anything, it is that you can't please everyone. In other words, many Battlefield 6 players are upset. Community Responses: From Fury to Support "Gamers prefer human opponents. Avoid making the errors of your rivals," reads a response to the mode reveal. "Truly disappointing idea," says a different user. Meanwhile, in community forums, one user notes, "I have no idea where we are headed with this title," while someone else lists everything they consider to be problematic in the game: "Fix bugs, address drone issues, fix IVF rockets, fix [the] bloom after sprinting bug, improve hit detection. We don't need this bot mode." On the other hand, for every complaint, some gamers explaining how much they're enjoying the new mode. "It's enjoyable to warm up, human participants keep it from being a complete grind but it's very relaxed," reads a forum post. "This subreddit doesn't understand that there are gamers who actually go outside and don't play this title 24/7. Let them find a middle ground," adds a different comment. One reply on Twitter explains that as they're "a parent gamer with busy schedules, this is great for me," while someone else praises the mode for "not being overcompetitive." Valid Criticisms and Player Input All that said, there are valid points to criticize Casual Breakthrough. A few folks have highlighted that it will make wait times more extended for different playlists due to the sheer number of playlists currently available. Similarly, some areas often face AI-filled matches in the current modes. Additionally, it appears somewhat counterintuitive that the mode does not begin without a required amount of real players, despite it focuses mostly on combat against bots. Lastly, a major grievances is that a previous feature was promised to provide full XP, even against bots, but that was removed when they tried to eliminate XP farming from the system. So this new playlist seems like the community compromising in the middle, as per forum feedback. Another describes this addition as the devs "dropping the ball so hard, I experienced great enjoyment in the first couple of days, why did they feel the need to adjust it?" Looking Ahead: Adjustments Occur? Should the development team has proven anything so far with the latest installment, it's that they're listening and responding to feedback. Assignments that were overly hard were adjusted rapidly, just like the specific battle pass objectives. Chances are that, should analytics indicates this recent mode is underperforming to their standards, they won't be shy to change it again.
